Fairfax

Fairfax is a city located in Fairfax County, Northern Virginia. The city is part of the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria Metropolitan Statistical Area, and is approximately 16 miles southwest of Washington, D.C.

The city is named after Thomas Fairfax, who owned about five million acres of land in Northern Virginia during the 1700s. During the American Civil War, Fairfax was the site of the first land battle, known as the Battle of Fairfax Court House.

Today, Fairfax is an award-winning city that has plenty to offer, from world-class restaurants to sprawling shopping destinations, exciting cultural attractions to picturesque parks and trails, and so much more.
