Columbia Heights

Columbia Heights is a neighborhood located in Washington D.C.’s Northwest quadrant, surrounded by other neighborhoods such as Adams Morgan, Mount Pleasant, Shaw, Park View, and Pleasant Plains.

Much of the neighborhood’s development started in 1999, after the opening of the Columbia Heights Metro station. However, it was during the early 2000’s when Columbia Heights experienced rapid development, after the city government worked with developers to build a new neighborhood center. This marked a new beginning for the area, as the construction of large residential buildings, retail spaces, and attractions like the historic Tivoli Theatre followed shortly after.
